Almost every year, we believe that nothing can top the abject horror of the last 12 months when it comes to true crime stories, homicides, execution-style murders, or serial killers that are still on the prowl, leaving behind a trail of blood, tears, and sorrow.

Then, of course, the New Year begins.

And so, too, begin the murders, bodies dumping beneath the snow, behind dumpsters in the worst parts of town, or left just where they fell, killed by a madman with a gun.

Unfortunately, terrible, barbaric things have happened since the beginning of time, when medieval torture devices included the iron chair (a victim was forced to sit in a chair made of iron spikes, while restraints were tightened so the spikes would slowly, painfully penetrate the body) and the pear of anguish (device with four sections that stretched outward after the instrument was inserted into any orifice of a victim's body - vagina, anus, or mouth - and stretch, causing permanent damage, while the Catholic Inquisition gave us the rack, which essentially tore its victims limb from limb to elicit a confession. When one inevitably came, the broken confessor was set on fire for his or her crime. So why should we be surprised to learn a serial killer is stalking Alaska, shooting people in the dark at the city's peaceful parks, while another makes his home in Phoenix, randomly shooting his victims, leaving residents looking over their shoulders with nervous anxiety wherever they might go?

People have been capable of terrible things since the beginning of time, and they seem in no hurry to put an end to their sadistic actions.

True Crime Homicide True Crime Stories of 2016 (Audible Audio Edition) Jack Rosewood Thomas Stone Rebecca Lo Wiq Media Books

Bestselling author Jack Rosewood does not disappoint with this book with all of the surprises in it. This really was one of those "hard to put down" books and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it.

It's an insightful and graphically detailed account of some of the most horrific real life crimes. In fact, while reading yet another of Jack Rosewoods books (with Rebecca Lo), I just had to keep turning the pages yet again. Not necessarily because it's all that enjoyable in any way, shape or form, to delve a little too deeply into the malefic minds of such murderous individuals, but because I sincerely believe that most people are fascinated in one way or another by serial killers. Perhaps it’s the human morbid fascination with death. I’m not exactly sure. However, maybe it just astounds the average person as to how depraved another individual can be.

The book delves deeply into some of the worst homicides, mass killings, hate crimes, spree killings and serial killings or serial killer captures across the United States in 2016. However, even if you are a seasoned campaigner of true crime, Homicide & True Crime Stories of 2016 will surely raise more than a few hairs on the back of your neck. It was a good read and the author gave a perspective to these horrific crimes that was both fascinating and intriguing. This was one of the better true crime books that I have read recently.

I would highly recommend this read to all fans of the true crime genre. I’m also a big fan of Jack Rosewood so it’s another 5 Stars from me. Well done again!

True Crime Homicide True Crime Stories of 2016 (Audible Audio Edition) Jack Rosewood Thomas Stone Rebecca Lo Wiq Media Books Reviews

In this informative true crime exposé of 2016 major crimes, one gets a close eye-view of just how barbaric some crimes exist. Each new year, don't we all wish for peace and less crimes/attacks on others? It just doesn't happen. These stories are chilling and some have never made it to our media. The author has done his research to share some little known facts to the public. He does not make up these stories. Jack Rosewood provides good information, however, a little better proofreading could make it better. Regardless, I highly recommend.
I like the style of writing Mr. Rosewood takes on his non fiction novels. He seems to research information from a lot of resources to write his novels , this makes a more accurate & detailed read.
Another reason I enjoy his true crime novels is he writes about criminals that one doesn't always read or hear about. Most true crime readers know of the Ted Bundy , or John Gacy ,etc.. But it's just as interesting to read about the not so famous or unheard of crimes as well.
I read a lot of true crime novels , & he is an author I enjoy immensely, I will continue to read his work.
This book was very well written and it focuses on crimes that were committed in 2016, from January to the end of the year. This is the first book I have seen him write that is in chronological order. Jack Rosewood, as always, did an amazing job with researching the people, places, and things that were affected by tragedy during this particular decade. I am truly looking forward to seeing what is in store for 2017. Anything by this writer I can safely, without a doubt, recommend
Jack Rosewood's Homicide & True Crime Stories of 2016 is a good way to catch up on the violent crimes that occurred in the U.S and abroad for almost the entire year. 2016 was a pretty violent year, and it isn't even over yet! Broken down by months, the cases are described, but with limited information, and then current statuses are given if possible. Since most of the cases are still awaiting trial, there isn't the in-depth research, analysis, explanation and interviews that are seen in Rosewood's other works. The book does its job as a summary of the year in violent crime, but including December would make it more complete, a true year in review.

I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This book highlights many of the high profile crimes that occurred both in the US and internationally in 2016. It gives a detailed description of what happened and each victim in the case. It covers many cases, including the Gregory Green family murders, The Pulse nightclub massacre, the Cascade Mall murders, the Victoria Martens horrific abuse/murder and so many others. I had forgotten how many horrible acts of murder happened last year. OK, all acts of murder are horrible, but these are ones that mostly had more than one victim (several mass murders), horrific mind-numbing crimes that make you hate humans. This book is a good summary of these crimes, that most people know about even if they are not into true crime. The book is well written and well researched. I do recommend it. I loved it.
Here is another amazing book from Jack. This book was different than the most books I have read from the author. In a very good way. First, it was much longer and it had many crimes that I do remember happening. It was like he was reporting the news, more details than what a newspaper would tell us. It also had many current events, which made me feel like I was reading crimes that actually happened near and far to me. It is the "True Crimes of 2016", after all. I loved the book very much. Now, I think it would be great if we get a follow up on these scumbags, if possible, to know that they get what they deserve. I would love to read that. I am left to wonder on so many of these horrific crimes,as we all are, just what their punishment is. I hope they don't die a natural death, that is way too good for them. Far too good, many people would love to see the end of them, but, not that way. God has a plan! I hope to read the outcome, then there are so many cases for the author to follow. But, I know, Jack, he can do it. He is such a great author who never stops writing. I have a lot of confidence in him.
