Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the house, a family of undeads were reveling in the holiday spirit, getting wasted, stripping, and watching porn. But when they heard footsteps on the roof, it wasn't Santa.

I just finished one of the most enjoyable free kindle books I've ever had the privilege of reading, and I felt it was well worth the shout out. There are hundreds and thousands of free (or cheap) kindle books on the market. I usually will pick up a kindle book when it is on a free promotion if the cover or concept catches my eye. Generally, I only read physical print books besides that.Unfortunately, 80 to 90 percent of the time these free giveaway kindle books are short, poorly written, and even painful to read. I wouldn't mind a book being short if it were written well. But, don't publish your short story to kindle if it isn't properly edited and revised.
Well, I am happy to say that the most recent free kindle e-book I read A Bigboobenstien Family Christmas is one of the most enjoyable free e-books I've picked up on kindle.
It is a very short, very simple story about an undead family of Frankenstein type monsters. The family is like a slightly more disturbed version of The Munsters or The Addams Family. They are putting on a small, and somewhat disturbing, Christmas pageant in their home.
Unfortunately for them Krampus is out and about, punishing the lustful and sinful who have been naughty all year. It seems that their happy Christmas gathering will be ruined unless they can work together to stop Krampus in his path.
I've read a lot of Bizarro and Splatterpunk throughout my career thus far. While I enjoy the sub-genre very much I often find things get a little too weird, too violent, too sexual at times--depending on the author. And that is saying something! Mostly this is because the violent or sexual content in a story exists for shock value alone, instead of being a supporting element to the story or characters themselves. (I will confess, I'm guilty of this crime at times myself).
O'Brien manages to have the perfect balance of "offensive content" alongside interesting characters and a fun little story. I'd even go so far as to say O'Brien could have included slightly more content and still had an excellent narrative. Everything in the story was vivid and engaging. In the few pages contained herein, I came to really enjoy the Bigboobenstien family.
However, I think the most impressive element of this story is its ability to capture the spirit and family togetherness of the Christmas season, even in a family of undead misfits. You still manage to get the warm fuzzies of Christmas by the end of the tale despite the deranged nature of the family.
I have not read any of the other books in the Bigboobenstien book series. (I didn't even know they existed until I finished this story.) However, this little bite of bizarro Christmas cheer makes me interested in potentially reading and reviewing the entire series! A Bigboobenstien Family Christmas is an excellent little tale that will give you the strange and potentially offensive content you desire while still managing to convey the joy of Christmas.

A BigBoobenstein Family Christmas edition by Jeff O'Brien Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
This is a great holiday story that is quick to read. I had read the first book in the series (Bigboobenstein) earlier this year but hadn't read the others before jumping into this one right after Xmas. If you are easily offended then this isn't the book for you but if your sense of humor is at least a little bit twisted then it is well worth buying. I really enjoyed the characters that were new to me as well as old favorites from the first book.
This short story as a book is a wonderful story for people who have read the BigBoobenstein series. And without giving away too much it is also a great read for those lovers of Krampus. I recommend reading those books first, just so you know who the characters are, since this is a short work not much time is spent on going into their backgrounds.
If you have read Jeff O'Brien before you will be prepared for what will happen and giving the size of this volume it happens fast, right from the start he paints a X-Mas vignette of bizarreness, debauchery, and family togetherness. As I have mentioned in previous reviews, Mr. O'Brien has a message in his stories. Families are made from people you care about and welcome into your trust, more than just biological associations. This group of people, working together can overcome difficult adversaries / situations. And of course, the best present is a good orgasm.
I don't know about all of you, but I prefer to think that this version of the Krampus story is the true one.
This story has me both laughing and cringing. This was a really fun book to read. I highly recommend it those who like some comedy with their horror.
What kind of world do we live in when a happy family of reanimated corpses can't enjoy a blasphemous reenactment of the birth of Jesus without it being interrupted by Krampus? "A Big Boobenstein Family Christmas" is a fun short story from Jeff O'Brien. There's plenty of fun scenes that bring shocked laughter especially the aforementioned Christmas play as well as Krampus and his detachable male reproductive organ. O'Brien never disappoints.
A good Christmas story is hard to come by these days, but Jeff O'Brien pulls it off in this fantastic tale of horror, bizarro, and family. O'Brien's smooth prose and vivid writing will make you squirm, laugh, and cry all within a 20-minute span. His unique and clever depiction of the Krampus is refreshing and breathes new life into a tired character. While some prudish readers may be shocked and appalled by some of the explicit sexual language, the heart of this story is family. And this story has a big heart. A BigBoobenstein Family Christmas successfully captures the spirit of the season in a way that's rarely seen these days.
If you aren't familiar with Mr. O'Brien's BigBoobenstein stories, I would recommend reading at least one of them before diving into this heartwarming Christmas tale. While you can still understand this story without reading those that came before, they will greatly enrich your reading experience.
